Outdoor Waterfront Living Space Belgard Paver Pad & Pavers Japanese Zen Garden

Project Summary

This waterfront landscape renovation began with a custom landscape design focused on creating a functional, relaxing outdoor space with a Japanese Zen-inspired feel. The project included an elevated paver pad built into the slope and featuring a Zen garden, along with new plant material, stump removal, grading, soil improvements, and preparation for new sod.

We also installed a paver walkway along the bulkhead to provide easier access to the dock and boat. During construction, we encountered a significant drainage challenge in this area. To solve it, we installed a 130-foot French drain beneath the paver path using perforated pipe, filter fabric, clean stone, and multiple discharge points through the bulkhead. This system was designed to allow water to move in and out of the area without compromising the stability or integrity of the paver walkway.

The completed project combined thoughtful design, detailed construction, and practical problem-solving to create a more attractive, functional, and enjoyable waterfront landscape.
